Here in the video we can see the working of new device that can preserve the heart of the recently died people. This heart can be used in the transplant. Now a person who needs a heart transplant might get a fresh heart. This special device is designed by the Massachusetts based company which is known as Trans-medics. This technology has been designed to keep heart working even after the death of donor.
The device works by supplying the heart with oxygen, blood and nutrients until it can be surgically implanted to a new person. This experiment has been successfully held out and until now 15 people’s heart has been transplanted. It is a great achievement of the people and it has given a novel solution to prepare heart for transplantation. With this device it can still preserve the heart of a dead persona and the heart can be later used for some other needy people.
It will help to give a life to a person. When a donor patient will be declared as a brain dead then heart of that person is also cooled down though the heart is still inside the body. The heart is then detached from the body and is kept inside the box by transporting. And the heart is kept in 39 degree Fahrenheit.
It is said that the cold temperature slow down the heart’s metabolism, giving doctors time to transfer the heart to the recipient before the cell of the heart starts breaking down. It is for the first time, a human organ has been kept alive outside the body of a person.
